Joni DiPirro studied at the Academy of Florence, Italy. She was a protege of contemporary Florentine master, Pietro Annigoni from 1968 to 1972 and studied conservation of antique paintings with Silvio Di Volo (curator of Florence's Ufizzi collection). Joni later studied at the State University of Buffalo New York.
